Incidental 42, also known as Incidental PM11, is one of the most common background characters in the series. This character model first appears in the episode "Ripped Pants."

Names

• In "Valentine's Day," Incidental 42's name is Dave. Template:Link is thanked for giving a present: a bouquet of flowers. SpongeBob says "You too, Dave."
• In "Dying for Pie," Incidental 42's name is Frank. SpongeBob shows Template:Link to everyone in Bikini Bottom. The last person seen to be introduced was Incidental 42, who Squidward calls Frank.
• In "I Had an Accident," Incidental 42 is a football player whose name is Percy.
• In SpongeBob SquarePants Trading Card Game, there is a card depicting Incidental 42 with the name Muskie.
• In The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, Incidental 42 eats a Krabby Patty in a hospital bed. Incidental 45 says "Oh, Harold!" which reveals another name.
• In Nicktoons Freeze Frame Frenzy, Incidental 42's model is used for one of the fish that the player can take a photo of. In the photo album, the name of the fish is given as Scooter.

Description

Incidental 42 is a red-orange fish with beige fins, light yellow eyes, and light olive-green lips who wears a baby blue t-shirt. In his older appearances, he had stumpier proportions, oval shaped eyes, and visible gils on the sides of his head.

Role in series

Incidental 42 is a very common incidental character in the series, he has had many notable & speaking roles as well as minor and non-speaking roles, he is usually seen with Incidental 41.

"Ripped Pants"

He appears as a customer at the bar with Incidental 41. The two fish get angrily annoyed by SpongeBob ripping his pants right in front of them.

"F.U.N."

Incidental 42 goes to see a movie with Fred, later reaching into Fred's pocket and finds money.

"Valentine's Day"

SpongeBob gives Incidental 42 a bouquet of flowers.

"Neptune's Spatula"

Part of the audience who watch SpongeBob and King Neptune's cooking battle.

SpongeBob shows Squidward to Incidental 42 at the park. Squidward says "Hey Frank."

"Patty Hype"

Incidental 42 is a starving fish who desperately needs some food. However, when Mr. Krabs offers a meal at the Krusty Krab, Incidental 42 refuses, saying that there's no pizzazz. The fish then continues searching for food, water, and atmosphere.

"Prehibernation Week"

Incidental 42 whispers to Incidental 49: "This is a load of barnacles." Sandy somehow manages to hear him.

Incidental 42 appears in the crowd scene.

"Club SpongeBob"

Incidental 42 is with Incidental 7 in the Kelp Forest where SpongeBob's clubhouse is seen flying past them. He tells her to make a wish.

Incidental 42 plays football with Incidental 41.

Incidental 42 mourns the loss of SpongeBob's pants.

Incidental 42 comes to the eponymous hotel and orders a double Krabby Patty with no onions and extra pickles. Mr. Krabs explains that customers need to rent a room and order room service if they want a patty. Incidental 42 looks at the time and explains "I only have an hour for lunch."

One of the people who mock SpongeBob's wig, and then later wear a similar wig at the end.

One of the customers at the Krusty Krab at Squid Wood's performance.

Incidental 42 is seen at the Krusty Krab.

One of the people who's ears hurt because of Patrick's song.

• In the game Nicktoons Freeze Frame Frenzy, Incidental 42's bloated model from "Just One Bite" appears, labeled as "Scooter" in the photo album.
• This character model has the most different names out of all the generic background characters.
